About client

Vietnam Electricity (EVN) is a leading economic group in the power sector in Vietnam and in the region, plays a key role in ensuring the national energy security. EVNHANOI is one of five distribution corporations under EVN, responsible for management, operation and sale of electricity from 220kV or less in the area of Ha Noi City.

Challenges

The old mobile app is mostly a responsive version of the website, which is why there are many issues that need to be solved.

High-Demand Support: Unclear app features led to a busy hotline, as users relied on phone support rather than self-service tools.

Discovery & Accessibility Issues: A hidden sign-up flow and a non-optimized responsive web experience created significant friction and delayed access to key features.

New Tracking Data: The existing system only provided monthly billing totals. Now the client wants to integrate real-time data from a new daily tracking device directly into the mobile app.

Process

This project follows the waterfall method, which is a linear process. Once one step is approved, we move on to the next.

Ideation

Personas

To better understand the people who will actually use the app, I created two personas. These are fictional characters based on insight from client that represent the different goals and problems our users face.

Userflow

Based on the existing flow and the information provided above, I have outlined a simple user flow.

Wireframes

To quickly capture my ideas, I created low-fidelity wireframes using Balsamiq Mockups. We have gone through two rounds of revisions, and once the layout is approved, I will proceed to the high-fidelity mockups.

Visual design

Styles

All the colors and icons are referenced from the brand's source material and real-world elements. I chose the Inter font to ensure maximum readability.

Design screens

I usually start with the home screen; once that is approved, I proceed to the other features.

Prototype

Due to the complexity of the user flow, I developed an interactive prototype to facilitate clearer client feedback and validation.

Result

By providing dev-ready handoffs for every edge case, I ensured a seamless transition from design to production and maintained high visual integrity across the entire application.
